2017 Asian Eastern Zonal Men’s Volleyball Championship is being held in Ulaanbaatar city during May 20 to 25, serves as a celebration of the 90th anniversary of the development of volleyball in Mongolia and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Volleyball Association this year.
Today at 1 p.m bronze medal match was held between South Korea and Mongolia and ended up 3:0. Thus, the National Volleyball Team of Mongolia ends up 4th place in the championship while South Korean team claimed a bronze medal.
The two countries also played for the bronze medal at the last edition of the championship which was held in Ulaanbaatar in 2015 and Mongolia had also defeated by South Korean Team. In 2015, Japan claimed the title while Chinese and Taipei were runners-up.
This year, a total of seven teams competed at the championship including Mongolia, Korea, Macao, Japan, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea and Hong Kong. China had not sent their team to the six-day tournament due to some internal procedures.
