Joint monitoring at the Ulaanbaatar-Darkhan highway was conducted in order to ensure if A-0401 paved road is meets the regulations, standards of Mongolia.
The monitoring was held during March 23-24 jointly by Ministry of Road and Transportation, Special Inspection Authority, General Police Authority, Ulaanbaatar city Traffic Police, National Center for Road and Transportation.
During the monitoring it was revealed that new road construction does not meet the standards and lacks proper road signs. Moreover the drivers were violating traffic rules by exceeding the speed limit, not using seat belts and using unauthorized enhancements on the vehicles.
The working group is to deliver the results of the monitoring and guidelines to eliminate the violations to respective authorities to ensure the safety standards on the roads.
