The state's Council for Information Technology, Innovation and Research held its first meeting on February 12.
Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Tsogtbaatar assigned the council's members, ministry officials, to focus on how technology and innovation can diversify foreign trade, strengthen economic cooperation, and diversifying the economy overall.
The council's members talked about best practices for delivering information to the public, foreign market research on how IT can be used by small and medium-sized enterprises, and opportunities for the export of Mongolian technology products. Diplomatic missions overseas will be responsible for studying available opportunities.
