Mentorship Program for Mongolian Youth continues

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – the “All for YOUth, YOUth for all” project, funded by the European Union, launched its’ Mentorship Program for youth in September 2020. By implementing this program, it empowers young people (mentees) for their personal development and better career prospect.

“One of my lifelong goals is to work as best as I can to build the society in which everyone can be educated and actualize what they learn in reality irrespective of their age, gender, nations, races and disabilities. I want to be the one who can voice in every area of my country, not being the one talking about only the disabled people’s right for the reason I am visually impaired. One of the things that I am learning from my mentor is a planning skill. Besides that, I am so pleased that I am learning how to write a project proposal with the help of my mentor and his colleagues. As a mentee participating in this program, I view it as a gate for youths to be supported to develop themselves, successfully start their future careers, build a relationship with many experienced people and get useful advice from them” said Lkhamsuren.A, a mentee of the program.

The mentors of the program are accomplished experts and professionals from various fields, namely, non-profit, international development, government, business, and academic sectors. There are 27 mentees have been participating the program. Each mentor works with their mentee for at least two hours per week. The program will be held as a second time in 2021.

“It is an amazing that I am still able to move forward to achieve my goals, slowly but surely, without giving up. If you wake up in the morning and stare at the ceiling and wonder what to do today, I would like to say participate such programs like this one” shared Munkhsaikhan.B, a mentee of the program.

This programme is just one part of a larger “All for YOUth, YOUth for all” project to improve NGO capacities, increase youth employment and entrepreneurship, promote civic participation amongst young people, and promote volunteerism amongst youth.

About the Project: Financed by the European Union, Caritas Czech Republic is implementing the project “All for YOUth, YOUth for all”, along with two project partners – the Mongolian Youth Center and Center of Citizenship Education – being implemented in Ulaanbaatar City and Selenge, Khentii, Dornogobi, and Bayankhongor aimags.
