The Parliament has calculated the basic income and expenses of the capital's budget for 2024, and approved the income to be collected in the state and the transfer income of the local development fund. In this framework, Kh.Nyambaatar, the Capital Governor and Ulaanbaatar City Governor, submitted the capital budget 2024 draft to J.Batbayasgalan, Chairman of Ulaanbaatar City Council.
In the draft budget of the capital city for next year:
- Reduce air pollution and housing ger district areas
- Improve the quality and standard of public transport in Ulaanbaatar, introduce new types of public transport with a large capacity, and increase connecting roads that have an impact on reducing traffic congestion
- Activate the cooperation between the public and private sectors, increase the number of jobs, implement policies to expand the economy of the city
- Intensify the investment work started in the past, and increase access to basic social services
Furthermore, revenue collection of MNT 2,598.9 billion has been planned which is MNT 652.8 billion or 33.5% higher than approved plan of 2023, and MNT 598.5 billion or 29.9% higher than the expected performance. In 2024, 93.1% of the capital's budget revenue or MNT 2,418.5 billion is planned to be collected from tax revenue, and the remaining 6.9% or MNT 180.4 billion from non-tax revenue.
