Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Mongolia Andre de Felipe presented last Friday his diplomatic credentials to the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, in the State House.
President Elbegdorj congratulated Andre de Felipe on his assignment, and wished him big success in his diplomatic duties.
“Mongolia acknowledge the opening of the Italian Embassy in Mongolia is an evidence that Italy attaches immense significance to its relations with Mongolia. Developing ties with Italy likewise is of a great importance for us,” said Elbegdorj.
Elbegdorj emphasized that an official visit of Pietro Grasso, the President of the Italian Senate, to Mongolia was the first ever high-level visit of Italy to Mongolia. Recalling that the leaders of the Italian Parliament’s Houses participated in the ASEP9 in Ulaanbaatar, the President said he believes that the Italian Prime Minister will take part in the forthcoming 11th ASEM Summit in Mongolia.
In turn, Ambassador Andre de Felipe said he will take every effort to broaden bilateral relations, and mobilize his experience thereto.
Underlining about the Mongolia-Italy cooperation in culture and art spheres, the President pointed out that Mongolia intends to co-organize art and cultural events on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations to be celebrated in 2020. He urged the Ambassador to work actively for making that happen.
The President said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Office will back the Ambassador in delivering his diplomatic mission here.
