VISIT: Russian President V.Putin visited Mongolia on this day 5 years ago

Russian President V.V. Putin was welcomed at the "Buyant-Ukhaa" airport by B.Battsetseg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs,  A.N.Yevsikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia, and other officials.

During the visit, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, the President of Mongolia, and V.V. Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, will hold official negotiations and participate in the signing ceremony of documents on relations and cooperation.

The heads of state of the two countries will also brief media representatives on the outcomes of their official negotiations. This marks Russian President Vladimir Putin's fourth visit to Mongolia as the Russian Federation's President, with his last visit occurring on September 3, 2019.

During that visit in 2019, the two countries signed the "Treaty between Mongolia and Russia on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership between the nations.

The two nations established diplomatic relations on November 5, 1921, and opened embassies in Ulaanbaatar and Moscow in 1922.
