As of today at 9AM, (Jan 9th), air pollution reaches hazardous levels in four areas of the Ulaanbaatar city.
According to the agaar.mn, an air quality monitoring webstie, levels of PM2.5 particulates reaches;
- 859 micrograms per cubic meter in Mongolian National Broadcasting,
- 544 micrograms per cubic meter in 100 ail,
- 535 micrograms per cubic meter at an area nearby Tolgoit.
Levels of PM2.5 particulates, which are the most hazardous to health, in heavily polluted areas of Ulaanbaatar city exceeds 34 times above the recommended levels, as compared with the World Health Organization safe level of 25.
