A delegation headed by Mr D.Gankhuyag, the Acting Vice Minister of External Relations and Economic Cooperation, is participating in the 21st OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Basel of Switzerland.
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to a theme "Overcoming security crisis in Europe: Further direction", the second day ran under "Combating terrorism: Common challenges within OSCE and out of the organization" theme.
Mr Gankhuyag also held meetings with Mr Didier Burkhalter, the Foreign Minister of Switzerland and the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; Mr Ilkka Kanerva, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly; Ms Dunja Mijatovic, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media; and representatives of Macedonia and Monaco, to exchange views on the regional security and the bilateral cooperation.
Since becoming a Participating State of the OSCE in 2012, Mongolia has been actively cooperating with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Democratic Institute, human rights service and other services.
Mongolia will host the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly next year which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act. In a first quarter of 2015, Mongolia will chair the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum.
The OSCE Minister Council Meeting will last until Friday.
