G.Temuulen proposes smaller government and prioritization of major projects

Member of Parliament G.Temuulen, who ran for Prime Minister at the Mongolian People’s Party's (MPP) seventh conference, received the support of 33% of the participants.

G.Temuulen emphasized that the most urgent task is to navigate the current economic difficulties with minimal risk. He proposed a policy of economic freedom aimed at delivering tangible reforms and outcomes.

As part of his proposed measures, he stated that the government should be downsized, the state budget significantly cut, and large-scale development projects postponed. He also highlighted the need to curb the consumption of imported goods that fuel inflation.

However, G.Temuulen also stressed the importance of economic expansion through support for citizens, enterprises, and the private sector. He called for prioritizing a free-market economy and for tax and social insurance reforms aimed at fair wealth and income redistribution.

On Facebook, G.Temuulen wrote:

“It was an honor to represent the younger generation of our party and to participate in a competition grounded in transparency, openness, ethics, and principled ideological debate. I sincerely thank my fellow party members for your trust and support.”

He also extended his congratulations to G.Zandanshatar, Chief of Staff to the President, who received the party’s nomination for Prime Minister:

“I wish you success, G.Zandanshatar. I believe the government under your leadership will meet the expectations of the people”.
