Calculating by the ship axis, the ship is located 9 meter above sea level in the north and 3.2 m in the south, and is 1.4-1.9 m deep in the lake bottom. The ship is 43.3 m long, 8.4 m wide, 5.7 m high and weighs 309 tons.
“Sukhbaatar” ship was designed by the Krasnoye Sormovo plant in 1956 with the purpose of increasing the technical capacity of the Khuvsgul waterway in accordance with the Trade Agreement with the Soviet Union.
According to the National Emergency Management Agency, the ship played a key role in supplying fuel and other goods from the Soviet Union to the western provinces which are Khuvsgul, Zavkhan, Uvs and Govi-Altai.
