11 boxes arrived from France which include a collection of monuments belonging to Mongolia, scattered all over the world.
S.Chuluun, Director of Chinggis Khaan National Museum and Academician, emphasized that "these are rare and precious artifacts that are more valuable than gold for us Mongolians". For instance, there are relics of the Hun and Il dynasties, classical pottery and porcelain of the Yuan period, and cultural samples of Kidan, which are not found in Mongolia.
These exhibits are on display at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum under the theme “Chinggis Khaan: How the Mongols changed the world”.
Among the exhibits, the original Letter sent by Il Khaan Ulziit to King Philip IV of France in 1305 which was brought to Mongolia after 719 years.
First, the letter is a historical witness. Second, the Mongol Khaan's letter which was sent from Iran or the Middle East.
Thirdly, a letter written in Mongolian script. A clear witness of Mongolian literacy culture, there is a royal seal at the beginning and end of the writing and at every end of the paper.
Fourthly, we can clearly see the diplomatic policy of the Mongolian emperors from the letter.
S.Chuluun, Director of Chinggis Khaan National Museum and Academician, said:
- In 2023, the exhibition "Chinggis Khaan: How the Mongols changed the world" was displayed at the Palace of the Duke of Brittany in Nantes, France for six months.
