Motorcycles, electric bikes, scooters, and surrons banned on Car-Free Day

"Car-Free Day-2024" will take place on September 21st, marking the 12th year that Mongolia has celebrated this event. The goal is to prevent traffic accidents and encourage a reduction in the use of cars, in line with more than 2,000 cities in 46 countries that also hold Car-Free Day.

On this day, markets and shopping centers will remain closed, and several streets and roads will be shut off to vehicles between 07:00 and 18:00, including:

  • D.Sukhbaatar Street
  • University Street
  • Seoul Street
  • Partizan Street
  • Bumbugur market intersection
  • Tumurchin Street
  • Geser Temple intersection
  • Sambuu Street
  • Ankara Street
  • Baga Toiruu
  • Beijing Street
  • Tokyo Street
  • Zaluuchuud Street
  • Chagdarjav Street
  • Ambassador Street
  • Olympic Street
  • Genden Street
  • Mongolian Children's Palace intersection
  • Mongolian Post intersection

Motorcycles, electric bikes, scooters, and surrons will not be allowed to enter these closed roads during the event.
