Yesterday morning, court meeting, at which a decision whether to continue the detentions of the former Prime Ministers Bayar Sanj and Saikhanbileg Chimed to be made, took place at relevant district courts. They discussed the proposal for continuing their detention submitted from the General Prosecutors Office (GPO) and ruled Bayar and Saikhanbileg to release on bail with prohibition to cross the border. However, following the court’s decision, the GPO issued a claim against the rule. Under a relevant law, the court held a meeting again in the afternoon to discuss the claim.
The court invalidated the previous ruling, which changed the detention for the reasons of unclear ground and issued a new ruling under which the detention for Bayar and Saikhanbileg to continue for another 30 days. They were arrested on April 10 and immediately were detained for 30 days in the Detention Center #461 over the investment agreements of Oyu Tolgoi.
