AQI: High pollution in the 1st sub-district area

As of 08:40 AM of January 18, the air quality index in the 1st sub-district /443/ and Mongol gazar /432/ area is very high. 

In order to measure the air quality index (AQI) of Ulaanbaatar city, 15 monitoring stations are placed in different areas of the capital city. 

According to www.agaar.mn: 

  • Misheel Expo is clean /116/ with low pollution
  • MNB /382/ is very polluted
  • Amgalan /246/ is polluted
  • Baruun 4 zam /221/ is polluted
  • The wrestling hall /179/ is less polluted
  • 100 ail / 176 / is less polluted
  • Urgakh naran /171/ is less polluted
  • Mongol gazar /432/ is very polluted
  • 1st sub-district /443/ is very polluted
  • Dambadarjaa /243/ is polluted
  • 5 buudal /153/ are less polluted
  • Khailaast /225/ is polluted
  • Bayankhoshuu /222/ is polluted
  • Tolgoit /165/ is less polluted
  • Bogd Khaan's palace museum /135/ is less polluted. 

When the air quality index is 301-400, pollution is considered high. People with chronic heart and lung diseases and the elders and children should avoid any physical activity outdoors. It is also recommended to go out in the fresh air and wear a mask when AQI is 301-400.

When the air quality index is 101-200 or low pollution, people with chronic cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, children, and the elderly should avoid strenuous outdoor work, play time, and sources of high levels of carbon monoxide such as road.
