On May 27, 2015, the State Ceremony of Consecration of the Mount Burkhan Khaldun was held in Khentii Mountain Ranges of Umnudelger Soum, Khentii Aimag.
At the worshipping ceremony, President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, Member of Parliament B.Bat-Erdene, Member of Parliament B.Garamgaibaatar, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President P.Tsagaan, Advisor to the President R.Bold, Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ts.Byambajav, the General Secretary of the National Security Council Ts.Enkhtuvshin, Chief of Staff of the Office of Gandantegchenlin Monastery N.Erdenekhuu, Governor of Khentii Aimag Ts.Oyunbaatar and other local officials were present.
On the eve of the worshipping ceremony, the lamas of the Mongolian Buddhist Religion Center – the Gandantegchenlin Monastery and the lamas of the Khentii Aimags monasteries dedicated their prayers and reading of Itgel, Gandanlajaa and Ulziihutag Buulgah San sutras to the Holy Mountain and the Big Dipper, the constellation, held in deepest esteem by the Mongolian people.
On May 27, the lamas and prayers welcomed the President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj when he arrived with accompanying honor guards at the mountain. Then, President Elbegdorj addressed the public, where he noted the profound esteem of the Mongolian people for the Holy Mountain and called for continued conservation of this unparalleled natural and cultural value.
