A total of 282 candidates from 10 political parties and one coalition are set to contest the upcoming elections for the Citizens' Representative Council in the capital. These elections, based on a majority system, will be held in 2,393 constituencies nationwide, where candidates will compete for 8,031 mandates, according to the General Election Committee.
In Ulaanbaatar, 45 candidates will represent the Mongolian People's Party (MPP), 44 from the Democratic Party (DP), 45 from the HUN Party, 27 from the National Coalition, and 45 from the Civil Will-Green Party.
Nationwide, 2,230 district committees have been established to facilitate the election process.
In terms of the city’s budget, Ulaanbaatar expects to collect a total of MNT 2.6 trillion in 2024, with MNT 1.1 trillion allocated for current expenses. Additionally, MNT 230.3 billion is slated to be collected for the state budget. The city’s projected revenue is expected to be 33.5% higher than in 2023 and 29.9% higher than previously forecasted.
