11th ASEM Summit commenced yesterday and will continue today in Ulaanbaatar. At the opening ceremony yesterday, President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj made an opening address at the 11th ASEM Summit and he highlighted that "ASEM Summit 2016 hosted in Ulaanbaatar is once in a century event". This year Asia-Europe Meeting is celebrating it's 20th anniversary here in Mongolia.
ASEM 2016 brought together 51 member countries' heads of state and government and 2 international organizations to Mongolia. It will take another century to host ASEM again in Mongolia.
After plenary discussions at the Shangri-La Hotel, delegations headed to Chinggis Khuree complex to partook 'Nomadic Naadam" festival.
President Ts.Elbegdorj opened the event with welcoming speech. The Naadam showcased ceremony of honorary cavalry guards, traditional culture, and arts performance as well as wrestling, horse racing and archery.
