A 160-meter road, starting from Seoul Street to the east of the 1st school and connecting to the southwest intersection of the Tsetseg Tuv and Enkhtaivan Avenue, has been officially renamed “Street of Ochirbat Punsalmaa” in honor of Mongolia's first president.
A.Amarsanaa, Head of the Urban Information and Technology Division of the Department of Urban Development and Urban Standards, said, “This decision was made at the meeting of the Council of the Governor of the Capital City, as discussed at the Cabinet meeting held on January 22,2025. In accordance with the decision, it was discussed and supported at the meeting of the Ulaanbaatar City Council. In consultation with the deceased’s family, the street to the west of the Winter Palace of the President of Mongolia was chosen. So, it can be understood that it was the street he used to travel on”.
A.Amarsanaa also noted that the renaming aligns with a resolution governing the naming of government streets and properties, which allows for streets to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Mongolia’s development during their lifetimes.
