BUDGET 2022: MNT 7.4 billion to be spent for protecting historical and cultural heritage

The Ministry of Culture will spend MNT 7.4 billion to protect historical and cultural monuments and support culture and art in 2022. In particular:

  • MNT 2.6 billion for the renovation of the Bogd Khan Palace Museum

  • MNT 1.7 billion for the renovation of Choijin Lama Temple Museum

  • MNT 1.2 billion for the renovation of the State Academic Drama Theater

  • MNT 1.9 billion for the renovation of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

Next year's total portfolio of the Ch.Nomin, the Minister of Culture, is MNT 263 billion; MNT 114 billion for current expenses and MNT 148 billion for capital expenses.

The Ministry of Culture planned the following results to be achieved after the renovation:

  • To increase the number of clients of cultural organizations /percentage of the population/ to 75%

  • To increase the number of regular readers of the public library / percentage of the population / to 15%

  • To increase the number of museum visitors / percentage of the population / to 21%

  • To increase the number of museum exhibits to be 245 thousand by the end of the year

  • Number of books per 10 thousand people to be 28 thousand copies

  • The number of seats in the cultural center per 10,000 people- 300

  • The number of national programs implemented nationwide should not be less than 3

  • The number of clients of professional arts organizations (in duplicate, in million) to be 3.6
