According to the ordinance of the Parliament, a decision to build a hydro power plant in Erdeneburen soum, Khovd province in order to improve the sustainability of the energy system in the western region of Mongolia and to be independent from imported power.
In the list of projects to be performed by USD 1 billion soft loan from the People's Republic of China /2018/, Erdeneburen Hydro Power Plant was included and the funding has been resolved.
Erdeneburen HPP will have capacity of 90 MW and total annual manufacture will be 366 million kWh which is expected to fully meet the needs of the five western provinces and support the Central Power System during peak hours.
Hydro Power Plant is a form of renewable energy and an inexhaustible source of energy.
