At 01:07 AM on January 24, 2024, an emergency call received about a truck carrying 60 tons of gas exploded and burned due to a traffic accident at Dunjingarav intersection, 26th khoroo, Bayanzurkh district.
According to the call, the officers of the fire fighting and rescue units were on duty. During the operation, three firefighters died in the explosion. The cause of the explosion is estimated that the truck carrying gas collided with another vehicle and exploded due to overheating of the container. Two drivers have been detained.
As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out in a nearby apartment with 60 households. Residents were evacuated and placed in hotels. Also, 10 citizens are being treated at the Burn Center. Four of these people returned with first aid. Five people are in critical condition in the intensive care unit, and five people are in the burn unit. There is a child among these people.
