Starting from November 3, votes have been taken on a proposal to demolish a building named after Urt Tsagaan which is located in the 3rd khoroo, Chingeltei district, and build a park or re-build. And 96% supported the construction of the park. The demolition of the building starts today. In this regard, Ts.Turkhuu, general manager of Ulaanbaatar city and the head of the Governor's office, and the relevant officials, worked onsite.
The building is being completely vacated after negotiation with citizens who run business in the building. Demolition will begin after the building is released. Side A will be demolished today. However there are many businesses in the building, there are only 24 enterprises and six citizens who have signed contracts and lease the building to others. In 2020, the Governor issued an ordinance to stop the operation of the “Urt tsagaan” trade center. A total of six official notifications were given.
The building will be demolished in the winter season, and establishing a new park will start in warm weather. No building will be built.
In 2011-2019, there were 8 conclusions made by the professional organizations that Urt Tsagaan building is at high risk of damaging life, health, and property of citizens.
